Not all fish finders are capable of this.
Lowrance side imaging not working on one side.
Last weekend the structure scan stopped working.
Lowrance product expert jacob scott walks through the basic settings set up and interpretation of active imaging sidescan.
But they work a whole lot better if you make a few changes to your settings to get a clear picture.
Consider the object on the left side image.
High chirp or 200khz higher frequencies display a higher resolution image making it easy to discern fish from structure or.
Side imaging solutions no side scan or not working correctly make sure your depth sounder has the side imaging option.
Low chirp or 50khz lower frequency means higher power for deep water fishing.
Lowrance structure scan stopped working i have a lowrance setup in my boat.
Structure page shows only a black screen with white line down the middle.
I have purchased and installed the lowrance elite 7ti with totalscan transducer.
Same for both side image and down image.
The side imaging range to the center of the object is 30 feet.
Not sure i can explain this but if i take off auto depth and manually set it for 5.
Most anglers who fish from a boat have some sort of sonar so we ll start there and save the side scan and down scan tweaks for.
This allows you to set the range to well over 100 feet to the side and still make out important detail.
I have had it out on the water to test and everything works but the side imaging.
A reasonable assumption here because this is a featureless flat then the true lateral distance to the object is 25 feet closer to the boat than the 30 foot side imaging range might suggest.
Sonar and down imaging both work.
Something i noticed today is that it actually seems to draw the screen in 2 of water.
If we assume that the water depth at the object matches the depth under the boat 16 6 ft.

Here is a quick breakdown.
Check your operations manual to see if this is a feature of your depth sounder.
My lowrance structurescan unit allows me to view both sides or just one side at a time.
